Project: Good Red Wine
CHALLENGE: A client requested that my team at Cellotape turn their intricate wine label artwork with die-cutting and foil printing into a print-production-ready design. My task was to oversee and ensure every detail was perfected, preserving the brand's essence while ensuring the labels would look stunning when applied to wine bottles and packaging.
ROLE: Print Production Designer
TOOLS: Photoshop / Illustrator, Powerpoint (PPT), Microsoft Office
DELIVERABLE: Produce enhanced Print-Production-Ready Artwork / High-Quality Printed Wine Labels
OUTCOME: I successfully transformed the client’s digital label artwork into a captivating label ready for wine bottle production. Our collaboration with the client and our die-cutting and foil-printing expertise made their vision a reality and move forward with the next stage of their business.
Process
I started by going over every pixel and detail in Photoshop and Illustrator to make sure the artwork was ready for print production. This included checking that the colors were accurate and fixing any typos and misalignments in the graphics.
After that, I collaborated with machine operators to inspect prints for quality prior to full production. While updating the design team and clients, we thoroughly examined the paper used, the colors, and the clarity.
I then made a printed sample to be reviewed by the QA staff. Ensuring that our clients received the best possible product, the QA team served as our last line of defense against any errors or quality issues.
In order for the customer to see and give their final approval, I finally created a mock-up of the label and put the project into production.
